X-Plore; informal Bible study starting 11th January 2012

Every Wednesday from 10am - 12.30pm

New to the Pilgrims Hall programme this year is a weekly opportunity to spend Wednesdays in the Word.  This is not a set course of study but a journey through the Scriptures allowing the Word of God to set the agenda.   Currently we are working through the gospel of Mark spending as much time as we feel helpful on each section.

This is an informal group with interaction the key and our golden rule is that ‘There is no such thing as a stupid question!’

You do not need to book but we hope that you will be committed in order to get the most out of the time spent together.

There is no set charge for these sessions but any gifts or donations to the work of Pilgrims Hall are gratefully received and prayerfully used.

Please do book your place to avoid disappointment.

Pilgrims Hall Summer School starting 27th August 2012

In association with Torah Resources International our Summer School runs from Monday 27th to Friday 31st August (inclusive)

Following the welcome reaction to our debut Summer School last year we are again hosting five days in the company of the TRI team who are a gifted body of Bible teachers with their roots firmly planted in the Scriptures.

Presently it is proposed that Monday 27th will be a whole day of study but the days for the rest of the week will be split offering three study topics;  one each for mornings, afternoons and evenings offering flexibility and continuity to those who may only be able to attend for part of the time.

We are still developing the study programme with our friends from TRI so, if you would like to be kept informed as details are finalized, then please register your interest with the office and we will send you more information as it is confirmed.

Pastoral Care for Christians starting 13th September 2012

Thursday evenings in September, October and November from 7.45 to 10pm

This ten session course is accredited by the Association of Christian Counsellors and is designed for those who have a heart for pastoral care as well as those who already have pastoral responsibilities.  It will enable you to develop an understanding of pastoral care from a Christian perspective and to become more effective in relating to and caring for people and communities.

In addition to the trainer led sessions, students will keep a personal journal throughout the course and write a review of one of the recommended books.

Trainers, Christine and Tony Tufnell, bring a wealth of experience to this course.  Both are qualified counsellors and trained life coaches. Tony heads up the Counselling Agency at Pilgrims Hall and is one of the leaders at New Harvest Community Church, Brentwood.   Christine has worked with single parents, step-families and couples and as a qualified trainer runs Linden Training.

The course runs on consecutive Thursday evenings from 13th September to 22nd November (excluding 1st November)

Cost: £10 per session including student pack with a 10% discount for full payment in advance; £90
